My Funny Experience With Eucalyptus Blue!

My Funny Experience With Eucalyptus Blue!

I L-O-V-E Eucalyptus. Yes, that's with a capital 'L'. There are over 700 known Eucalyptus plants. Most are found in Australia. If you walk along the streets of Australia, you will come across Eucalyptus in all forms, essential oils, creams and ointments aplenty. It's a walk down 'Heaven's Lane' for me. The native Koalas love them too!

Young Living has a few types of Eucalyptus essential oils. The one I loved most is the Eucalyptus Blue (EB). It is grown and distilled on Young Living's farm in Ecuador, South America. High in eucalyptol but a really amazing fact is that it does not cause allergic reaction in peeps who are allergic to eucalyptol.

This EO supports our respiratory system, repel insects and is highly calming to the mind. Since Valor is out of stock most of the time, I find that Eucalyptus Blue works well for me to calm my nerves and I love it for the refreshing smell.

My Oiling Buddy, Serene and I meet up for roadshows often. I'm grateful to her for making time for it because she has two kiddos to take care of. Just recently, we were discussing EB and how much I love it. Serene had a different experience with EB. It smells like stinky socks to her, especially when she's not feeling well. I was dumbfounded. How is my favourite oil like socks?

I had blocked nose and my throat felt dry due to the haze that hit Singapore suddenly two days earlier. Since I got a diffuser necklace which I find super pretty, I thought I could diffuse my favourite oil when I'm out of the house. Big mistake! It smelt like gym socks to me suddenly. Too late to change the cotton ball in the pendant since I was running late for my appointment. My sense of smell must have changed because I was unwell. Bear with it! It's soothing to my blocked nose. Uggh! For those of you with the same problems as me, try to diffuse other respiratory oils like RC, Raven, Idaho Balsam Fir or Dorado Azul.

I can almost hear Serene snickering all the way from the East.

I am Haze Ready.

Haze is BACK!

The smoky air is back with a vengence. Where I'm at, the air carried a burnt smell as well. At once, I can feel the back of my throat dry and scratchy. Drink up guys! Supplement with herbal jelly or Luo Han Guo drink to nourish your throat.

Son automatically requested for his mask when it's time to leave for school. Walked halfway and he asked why I didn't apply any oils on his mask. Even asked me to remember to diffuse Purification at home later while he is in school.

Oh dear! I totally forgot about the Haze Protocol after the one year lapse. Even my son remembers more about oiling than mummy! Haha..

Reminder to self: Must blog this down before I forget. #INeedBrainPower

Haze protocol:
  • Check NEA website for hourly PSI reading. (Like watching share price charts!)
  • Swipe Peppermint, Purification, or any respiratory oils on outside of mask to remove odors and to ease breathing. Some respiratory oils I like right now are RC, Idaho Balsam Fir, Raven, Eucalyptus Blue and Dorado Azul.
  • Diffuse Purification or Thieves at home to remove odors and boost immunity for family.
  • Avoid outdoor activities if PSI hits above 100 points.

I'm sure if you google any essential oil FB pages or websites, there will be many variations of Haze Protocol. Choose one most suitable for you!

White Angelica During The Hungry Ghost Festival.

White Angelica During The Hungry Ghost Festival.

Some of us love to use Abundance essential oil during the Lunar Chinese New Year for abundant happiness, health and wealth, I use White Angelica essential oil to repel negative feelings and strengthen my aura.

August 3, 2016 was Day 1 of the 7th month in the lunar calendar. The Hungry Ghost Festival, which we Chinese believe is a time where ghosts and spirits, including that of our ancestors, would be allowed to visit the living descendants for the entire lunar month. We pay homage by praying and preparing offerings. During this month, burning of incense papers, joss sticks and placing of offerings at the side of the roads or pavement is a common sight. Do be patient with us as this is part of our religion. For the rest of us, please try to leave as little trace as possible. Racial harmony rocks!

I started the day with by diffusing White Angelica in the house. Call me superstitious but I do love the smell of White Angelica. It's a blend of Myrrh, Bergamot, Sandalwood, Geranium, Ylang Ylang, Hyssop, Melissa, Rose and Angelica. It will attract positive energy and repels negativity, strengthens your aura and gives you a sense of protection. Who would mind a little more help right?

Funny incident happened that night. After dinner, I accompanied my mother down to the void deck to offer our prayers. We noticed a lot of people gathered as well. Being the busybody that I am, I walked up to the group to find out what happened. It seemed that a blackout had occurred on the other half of the block. Our side of the block was not affected. I told my son we were super lucky, else we would be having dinner in candlelight!

One neighbour of ours made an interesting remark:
"The lights went 'POK' at 8 o'clock! #ScaredDieMe. Today is the first day of the seventh month you know!" All of us couldn't stop laughing.

If you have a sensitive child who suddenly starts to cry in the middle of the night, try swiping a little White Angelica on the shoulders or feet of the child. This is what happened to my super sensitive boy. He is more spiritually aware than us, especially if he is sick. That awareness gave me quite a scare in Desaru. Will share the story another time. I have heard of other mummies commenting their kid wakes up crying or becomes super cranky this week.

Other alternatives include Paolo Santo and Sage (only from Young Living USA). Try it, there's nothing to lose but a good night's sleep.

Happy snoozing!
